Marbled Nutella Brownies
Updated: Dec 11, 2018

What’s not to love? Chocolate Brownies & Nutella!
You’re either a lover of a gooey brownie or a spongy brownie - these are definitely gooey!
The Nutella drizzled over the top ensures that, even if you accidentally over bake them a bit, they’re still going to be gooey in the centre. These are perfect for a tea-time treat, or as I prefer them, still slightly warm from the oven and served with a big scoop of vanilla ice-cream as a dessert!
Ingredients:
350g dark chocolate
250g butter
250g golden caster sugar
3 eggs
50g plain flour
50g finely ground hazelnuts
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1tsp vanilla bean paste
100g Nutella
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180℃ (160℃ fan) Grease and line a 31x21cm brownie tray.
Place the chocolate and butter in a in a heat proof bowl. Heat over either a pan of barely simmering water until they melt together. As an alternative you can microwave the chocolate and butter - ten or fifteen seconds at a time - until they are melted together. Be careful not to overdo this. Set the melted mixture aside for the moment.
Whisk together the eggs and golden caster sugar using a mixer or electric handheld whisk until thick and pale.
Gently fold in the melted chocolate/ butter mixture and the vanilla into the whipped eggs and sugar.
Sift in the flour, hazelnuts, baking powder and salt, and fold in. Turn the mixture into the tin.
Gently heat the Nutella until it becomes a slightly more runny consistency. Then drizzle this over the surface of the brownie mixture, and using the back of a knife marble the Nutella through the mixture. Don’t overdo this...it’s supposed to look random.
Place into the centre of then oven and bake for 35- 40 Mins. Once baked leave to cool in the tin.
